Moon Goddess Coyolxauhqui, drawing parallels between her story and stories that serve as an awakening to the condition of contemporary women. The Latina Dance Project will recast the myth of the Moon Goddess and her brother, the
War God, from a feminist

perspective through four stories: Coyolxauhqui as a young woman whose dreams haunt her; a Brazilian professional woman who battles the voice of self-empowerment; an immigrant who re-assembles herself through plastic surgery and fashion; and a young Mexican maquilladora (factory) worker who meets her fate in Juárez, where more than 300 women have been murdered over the last ten years.
